Genius and General Statements

"Genius is eternal patience"
I will not mention who said these wise words because I do not want you to be influenced by the context in which this great man must have spoken these words. I was influenced and had to take a little effort to take a broader look at this and view it as a general statement. Whatever the context may have been, how true is this statement.

Of the various definitions for this word in Webster's online edition, the ones that struck me the most were these -
Genius :
: a peculiar, distinctive, or identifying character or spirit
: : extraordinary intellectual power especially as manifested in creative activity

Let's pay attention to the word 'spirit'. To me, this word signifies a kind of energy that ultimately leads to some creative process. Or destructive process, depending on the kind of energy.
Now back to our great man's words - 'eternal patience'? Towards what? Towards the task into which this energy is being put? Towards yourself and your eccentricities? Towards the eccentricities of the world? Towards the limitations that the world puts upon this energy? What eternal patience does he talk about?
To me, the idea of genius has always been an entity that is so full of energy, ability and will to create something, that it can hardly wait. It is extremely urgent and impatient, as though in order to channel all that energy into the creative process, without giving it a chance to dissipate or fade away.
Where does patience come in here? Isn't it impatience and an uncontrollable urge to channel energy towards a strict sense of purpose that makes genius?

Now I have to tell you, in the great man's context these words would be absolutely true. Google the quote, you will get the person. Judge for yourself. It will tell you that a general statement has very little place in this world.

"Genius is eternal patience" quotes one of the greatest intellects of your kind.A superior earthling you seem to say...hmm the surfer feels very cold here..trembling cold 18 degrees..still he keeps surfing for no apparent reason ..that is patience.your "genius" Angel - 'O' I thought he got up to get his coffee after writing the quote or his voice choked and he got up for some water unfinished with his saying and someone very urgent in saving the earth ran away with the partial quote...Angel just sent me his incomplete words to blog you..he says this is what he meant.."Genius is eternal patience to be impatient always.."
figure out the meaning earthlings..it is just the masters(your genius's) way of communicating the idea of what it is to be a genius to an unfamiliar world..A genius is a state it cannot be described. It just happens. It happens through patience and more.Through constant incessant revelations and more .Through milestones and more .Through intuitions and more .You never arrive at it,nor is there any path, nor can it be taught. It is an experience.Genius is forgetting your world.Forgetting why you do-what you do-the art of just doing.just being.just giving.forgetting patience/impatience,tolerance/freedom.
It is a "world of no words"just one thing prevails in there the "spirit" in its supreme state. There will neither be craving for recognition nor for mundane service. The only driving force would be the force itself. In fact your "humane science"has failed to prove its existence "perpetual force" of "the spirit"...hmm..wait..scanning linguistic records..destination..planet earth.....processing..infact you humans have already recognized a word for it in Sans-krit or wait maybe "sanskrit"--it is called "nirvikalpa samadhi"..hmm EARTHLINGS..intelligent ones..let me bookmark your planet..its getting more cold in here ..got to surf in some hot place..blog surfer signing off..hmm genius..spirit..patience..eternal..earthlings are smart creatures than those casidivians..have to talk to blogctus about them..they practice intellectual hierarchy..utter blasphemy...and phew they have a word for supreme intelligence! as if it could be measured!..hmm blogctus will no better..

Thanks for stopping by on Earth , Oh creature-of-some-other-world and of course, I must ask you if your linguistic records are maintained by humans? If not then fire him, whoever it maybe because he is extremely inefficient.

Nirvikalpa Samadhi sounds interesting now. I will do "homework" before I comment on that.
But for the time being I can tell you that I am not trying to measure supreme intelligence. "supreme intelligence" is also a set of words isn't it? Did you try to measure it when you keyed in those words? Giving it a name doesn't mean we are trying to measure it. And if you ever have the idea of doing it, I would discourage you from doing it. It is a waste of the precious energy that makes you.
And you missed my most important point - there is no place for generalization. Do not judge the entire human race based on one piece of writing by one human. I do not know how it works on your planet, but ask Blogctus, he will tell you that no two of us are the same for anyone here or elsewhere to make a sweeping and bold statement.
Thanks again. Keep stopping by
